Great all-in-one.

(5 out of 5) by Matt on Nov 17, 2002 (Naples, FL United States)
I installed this into a Windows 2000 machine and it works flawlessly. It didn't require the installation of any extra drivers--Windows already had all that was required. The card has everything I need for my high-bandwidth requiring devices. It even has internal ports so I can plug the Firewire port on the front of my computer into it. Highly recommended!

Installation problematic, but great for what it is

(3 out of 5) by Pratik Dave on Nov 6, 2003 (New York, NY, USA)
As did several of the others who have reviewed this product, I had trouble getting it to work. It allocates a bunch of IRQs and apparently didn't appreciate sharing a case with my video card. I called Adaptec support, spoke with a helpful technical support guy, and after hanging up made a relatively easy bios change that made everything work fine.

Because USB2 and Firewire cards separately cost about as much as this card and would end up taking two slots I think that if you're comfortable possibly having to troubleshoot installation problems it's well worth it.

Works with Linux kernel 2.6

(5 out of 5) by G. Maxwell on Jul 15, 2006 (Pennsylvania)
Excellent way to add USB 2.0 and Firewire to your set up. Works as advertised and, most importantly, it works flawlessly with the 2.6 series Linux kernel. Linux supports ohci, uhci, and ehci on the USB side and also supports firewire. Easy to install, too.

A convenient way to upgrade your computer to today's technology!

Worked like a charm for me?

I was able to install into a Compaq DL360 multi-processor Windows 2000 server and it worked like a champ

Great Card

(5 out of 5) by Shawn T. Bell on Mar 25, 2009
I had zero issues installing this card and using both the USB2 and the Firewire. I am using the firewire to capture miniDV from my camera directly to a drive connected to the USB2 on the same card. No issues, this is great. My PC is a Dell Dimension 8200 running XP Pro, I also updated my BIOS and OS before installing the card. The software that ships with the card is odd. It came with a disk with quicktime and acrobat or something like that, but no drivers. Windows used its drivers and the card works fine. Well worth the $ for no headaches.
