Great sound from a Quality brand name!
(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jun 25, 2002I purchased this unit after returning the RCA RT2500. I bought the RCA because of the price and the reviews at this site. The movie experience was OK, but to use it as I wanted to, as a stereo for my music, it had no real punch. For a 200 watt sub, I'd say it sounded poor.
I decided to go with this Denon, and WOW!! What a difference!! The sound is incredible!! It has 500 watts surround and has a 55 watt powered sub. Don't let the 55 watts scare you. It will move the hair on your leg 6 feet away!!! The sub is raised on legs with the speaker facing the floor and the port out the side. That makes all the difference. I set the level on 2/3 max or it gives too much bass (if there is such a thing).
This is a quality piece of workmanship. I couldn't be happier with this system and would recommend it to anyone.
The remote is a little complicated until you get used to it, but it also gives you great flexibility.
