jeff "electronics junkie"

I don't see whatis wrong with the unhit like some people are saying. It is great and really locks in the dialog. It is low so it does not block the tv screen. Maybe it is like the other guy said and you have to balance out your system. I used the Avia dvd and now all the speakers sound great

Be Careful!

Be sure and listen to this speaker before you buy it. "Consumer Reports" rates it last of 13 tested center channel speakers with an accuracy of "65" out of "100". Their comment is "Fair. There are better choices". (11/02 issue)

I do not own this speaker but bought its predecessor, the VS100, based on the Bose reputation. Regretfully, I had to replace it with another brand even though the rest of my theatre system is all Bose. (I even have Bose 161s throughout my home.) Their other speakers are excellent. Bose just does not seem to achieve the realism in their center channel speakers that they are so famous for in their other equipment.

Bose Bests All other Brands

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Sep 2, 2002
I love the sound of a crisp acoustic guitar, when I can hear the nuances of the guitar, a singer's voice where the minute characteristics, are captured. Bose is the next best thing to live music.

And I don't know what they do, but it seems the *smaller* the speaker, the greater the sound.

Don't be fooled

I bought this speaker about one year ago from Best Buy, very disappointed. The sound quality is terrible, I have two presence channel $15 KLH speakers that sound better than this. No high end speakers have cabinets made of plastic, hence why Bose is not high end. After a year of misery on my ears, I've replaced this with a Paradigm center speaker that only cost $20 more, and the difference is not even comparable. Do not buy this, or any Bose product at all. Save your money and buy Paradigm, B&W, or similar, most of the time they cost a little bit more, but sometimes actually less and are actually high end speakers, and you will get your money's worth.

Do Not Buy This

Like everyone else has said, this thing is a waste of money. I have had mine for 3 years now and have not once been able to hear the actors speaking during a movie. I thought it was my tuner, but it must be this piece of garbage
