Recoton DVD647 RF Modulator, update your old TV

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 8, 2003
While this product won't transform your old TV into a state of the art home theater system, it can breathe new life into that outdated set. If you're upgrading to a more modern set, this item is perfect for converting your old one into a dedicated gaming system for the kids. Or if you're like me and you just want to be able to watch DVDs in the Rec Room from your comfortable chair on the old TV that doesn't have A/V inputs,
this RF Modulator is the ticket to take you there without breaking your bank account.

Fantastic Buy

(5 out of 5) by Westley on Oct 31, 2004 (Stuck in my head)
If you want to use a DVD player with an older TV that doesn't have an AV jack, then you'll probably need one of these modulators. I recently had to replace my old RF modulator. I decided to purchase this brand and model because it was the most inexpensive one I could find. Admittedly, I was a bit worried that it wouldn't work for my TV or that it would break easily. Fortunately, I had no problems hooking it up to my DVD. Several months later I'm still using it and am very pleased with my purchase. This modulator is a great buy -- highly recommended.

For TVs with only a coaxial input

(5 out of 5) by Rebecca Johnson on Jun 28, 2003 (Washington State)
If you are wondering how to hook up your new DVD/VCR to an older TV which still works fine, then an RF Modulator is what you really need to allow the connection of a DVD player to your older TV set.

You plug your DVD/VCR player into the RF Modulator and plug the RF Modulator into the coaxial input.

It is like buying a new TV, just less expensive.

Simple to install and very worthwhile. Mine is hidden up behind the TV, you can't even see it is there.

Does the job for 1/3 the price!

(5 out of 5) by Mr. Priapism on Mar 23, 2005 (California)
After purchasing two Mini DVD/MP3/CD/etc...players for our twin boys older TV's we realized that we needed RF Modulators to hook up to our sets. After pricing the local mechants we gave Amazon a search and found these babys! We got two of these for 1/3 less than a single one priced locally, plus free shipping! Work great out of the box and do what you need it to....and aren't too ugly either!
