So Simple and Works Great

(5 out of 5) by B Stamper on Mar 21, 2006 (Logan, OHIO)
I am not computer literate. After reading the reviews I purchased the product. It worked exactly as described - plug and play. I can now use my Memorex DVD dual recorder which I received for Christmas. Computer purchased in 2000 and is a Dell Dimension w/ os XP.

Poor Support

(2 out of 5) by Mort Guffman on Feb 27, 2005 (Florida)
I got an error trying to install this card. I do this for a living so I ought to be able to install a simple PCI card. But not this time. I spent the extra money on the name-brand card because I read about the Adaptec Support from other reviewers. Well first, their website was useless. The suggestions they had were'nt even close. Then I decided to talk to a live person - but wait! You need a credit card and have to pay $10 for phone support. So I e-mailed a detailed description of the problem to them. After 48 hours, no reply. I found a MS KB article that told me exactly how to fix the problem.

Adaptec AUA-3100LP USB 2

(5 out of 5) by Eagle Rest on Oct 15, 2004 (Gilbertsville, KY)
Everything worked right out of the box! The installation was flawless and the software worked. One tip might help, I installed this on Windows 98 SE and it helps to pop the installation disc in and print out the pages of the guide for your particular system and have them handy. Otherwise you will be at the mercy of the Windows installation wizard and it's choices.

Easy to install, nicely built card

(4 out of 5) by Philip S. Massam on Sep 7, 2002 (CA, United States)
Installed this card in minutes including all the software upgrades available on the Adaptec website. Instantly hooked up all the existing USB peripherals and all worked just fine.

Hooked up a USB 2.0 peripheral and experienced the high speed transfer rates.

Bottom line? Nice card from Adaptec, well worth a slight premium over cheaper models.
