electronics nut from Aurora, ILL.

reception on vhf is very poor. unf reception is excellent. unit does have tv mts sound pickup which sounds great!! one large problem is unit uses 4 inch lcd screen placed behind a 3.25" non-removable black front trimplate. trimplate screen is old fashioned round window (see picture on web site)which cuts your viewing off on all sides and corners of the 4" lcd picture. unit is really 3.25" not 4" viewing screen. cable tuning is not available. operates on 6 'c' batteries or ac. sound is the best on any lcd tv i have ever heard!! stereo headphone jack input is available. If plugging in ext antenna, picture is ok on vhf. also color, tint, or contact controls are not adjustable. color was ok but tint was very slightly on the green side. brightness is adjustable. nice audio touch, cable tuning needed. returning item to amazon for refund.

Shouldn't get so much as one star

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jul 17, 2002
This is the worse quality TV produced. It does not get in any
stations, only static and a screen that continuously jumps
and has lines going through it. The sound is distorted
to the point of being inaudible.

I have a small 2.5 inch Sony that is clear, wonderful
image, sound ... reception. So I know small TV's can be
viewable.

If you want a portable TV, save your money. If you plan
on using it for a game monitor, it might be okay. Although
I did not try it.

TV Review

(2 out of 5) by J. H. on Mar 22, 2005 (Allen, Texas United States)
The AXION ACN-5402 3.2 LCD portable TV has received a lot of bad reviews, for good reasons. First, the screen is odd-shaped, second, the reception on VHF is poor quality, third, the sound can be distorted, and fourth; the set will not operate if it gets too warm from being outside or in a car or truck. There are better choices out there than the ACN-5402 from AXION; and you should avoid this one. If you are going to operate it on batteries, it takes 6 "C" cells!

If you need a replacement AC cord for the ACN-5402 model, www.shopaxion.com has them. I have told you the negatives about the ACN-5402, 3.2" TFT LCD color TV by AXION. Now I will tell you the positives: First, it has 2 built-in stereo speakers, second, it has audio and video in jacks to hook up a DVD player or VCR, or camcorder. Third, the price is low, fourth, it comes with an AC adpater and Car adapter. Fifth, UHF reception will be better than VHF. Finally, it is a fold up design TV, and is only 8" in length, 6.75" in depth, and 3" height(folded.) Buy at your own risk. Oh yes, it has an external antenna jack and ear phone jack.

don't let it get hot....

(2 out of 5) by Richard F. Barriga II on Oct 11, 2003 (Phoenix, AZ USA)
this little t.v. was not what i needed here in arizona. I bought it so i could take it to the baseball game and watch college football. It wouldn't work after traveling in the car on the way to the game in a backpack. It just got too hot. I carried it from the car to the game in my iced water bag to cool it down. It worked after that, but i had to leave it turned on or it wouldn't have turned back on. Was going to send it back, but didn't want to pay for shipping. Just waiting for the few months here in arizona so i can use it outside.

Great Portable LCD TV

(5 out of 5) by John2006 on Apr 26, 2006
I bring it everywhere I go. I even watch it on my dining table. The speeks are powerfull. You don't have to link it to your car speaker when you drive on highway because the speakers are aloud enough to conver the road noice.
On the box, it says it's 3.2" but I believe the size is at least 4". if you have one you will know what I'm talking about.
It's also very usefull in the ball park. I love it.
It can be powered by ac/dc adaptor, size-C batteries and car adaptor. The batteries last longer than other portable TVs.
