Don't bother to spend your money.

I bought two of these stereos for presents last year. They fell apart by June (CD players quit working, tuners began to short out). I have been trying to contact Emerson for a copy of the warranty for four months, but have not received the courtesy of a reply.

Total piece o' .....

To echo some other reviewers, my unit skips terribly on the cds it will even play. Also, the motor to open the cd door on top isn't strong enough. After about a month of use it became manually operated. Don't waste your money

Wrong Noise From a Stereo

(2 out of 5) by Elise Saadi on Dec

I love the look of my stereo, and it has worked fine for me for the first few months of owning it. BUT... now the fan in the back is making such a funny noise that I cannot hear the music. I do not know why the fan is all of a sudden making a sickly noise after only 3 months of occassional use and of course it happens right after the 90 day manufacturer's warranty runs out.

I admit it... I was HAD!!!

I fell for the nice look, the nice price, and yes even the nice sound. Brought this little "gem" home and was terribly pleased with my "deal". Pretty good sound for such an inexpensive cd player.
Well, sadly, the story does not end on this happy note. Less than a week later, the "cheap electronics" demon reared its ugly head and my gem turned into a piece of ** (sorry can't think of a polite word). The CD player began to skip (a lot!!!), strange whirring sounds chirped up in the midst of my "listening pleasure", and even the radio wouldn't work properly, suggesting a short perhaps (I am no expert but I do know ** when I hear it).
Back to the twilight zone for you, you piece of Emerson rubbish! And serves me right for trying to "go cheap"! *deep sigh* ... let this be a warning for all weary electronics pilgrims out there! I just wish I had read all the other (very truthful) reviews on Amazon before buying my possessed little piece of junk. They were all right, SO RIGHT! (except the one that said it was a great machine.. must be an empolyee of Emerson or something)
I strongly recommend the JVC FS-H35 Executive Microsystem instead. I bought it in replacement of the Emerson and it was a real gem of a buy.

Very disappointed...

I bought this CD player over a year ago. I loved the look, yet the motor always seems so noisy. Last month, the CD player stopped working. It would have been wiser to have spent more money on something that would have lasted longer.
