Not the best sound

The MP3 sound quality is very good, but the standard CD sound lacks. There is some audible clipping. When I compare with a CD player I bought a couple of years ago ..., the cheaper player sounds better. Again though the MP3 sounds good so if that is your main purpose, then it is a good buy.

Good American brand!
(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jun 2, 2003Memorex is a solid American brand and I've bought lots of their storage media (cassetts, tapes, CD-R/RWs, DVD-Rs, etc.) and never had any major problems. This CD player is another solid product that can play MP3 files. The controls are easy to use, and anti-skip works. Do not listen to America bashers who want to promote foreign brands and foreign jobs.
