OK Sound
After reading the other reviews on these, I guess I was expecting them to sound really good. I would say that their sound is just OK, no better than that for sure. Absolutely no bass, and vocals sound very tinny and hollow. Then I remembered how much I paid for them, and I figured 'what can you expect'. So, don't be misled by the other reviews, the bottom line is that you get what you pay for, and these sound like [an inexpensive] pair of speakers. They represent a decent value in low end speakers, but nothing more.

Priced Right, Good sound!
We placed our speakers 1' above our deck and 14' seperation. Couple that with monster cable-THESE SPEAKERS SOUND GREAT!!!
We are using a 50W/channel receiver. Well placed, these speakers have plenty of highs and the bass is audible (sub-woofer) would give enhancement). For our back-ground type music under the sun/stars this is an exceptional deal. Well worth the purchase!!

Best for background Music
Pros: Lightweight, easy to install with brackets included, and a GOOD price-performance relation. Considering the limitations of the drivers and the housing etc, it is a good deal. The mid-range and high-range definition is pretty good.
Cons:
Just slightly overstepping that what the bass driver can handle, and it will sound really ugly. When we reach that point, the speaker is hardly handling 18W RMS power. In other words: The speaker is overrated being called 100W.
My conclusion:
These speakers are best for multi-room low-level ambient music. It has an emphasis on the 7-8 KHz range, saying that some sources like cymbals sound harsh. Nothing that cannot be fixed with an EQ. The mid range 300-6000 Hz is very well defined and balanced, given the size of the speaker.
As said: A good deal, but DON'T expect 100W from it.

Also Use For Vehicles
While most cars have places to put speakers, vans and VW busses don't. Outdoor speakers allow you to hang the speaker on the walls or in the corners. You can hear the stereo better because the speakers are above the cargo or seats and you can use less wattage to drive them. I have two complaints: 1. They come with plastic brackets that break going down the road. You need to get metal brackets from the manufacturer if you are going to use these for an auto sound application. 2. They are thin as you can get with absolutely zero bass response. If you have a subwoofer, fine. But by themselves, I wouldn't ever buy these again.

Audiosource LS300 speakers
I resently installed these speakers on the outside of my house (backyard). I was amazed at the quality of sound that came out of such inexpensive speakers. I recommend these speakers to anyone who wants a good source of background music for their outdoor activities.
