I just looked at the reviews for this laptop and was surprised when I didn't see a solid 5 stars. I've owned about 20 different Toshiba laptops since 1996 and without a doubt the 1805-S274 is the best I've owned at ANY price! It came with everything I needed (except XP Pro) and hasn't frozen once in 6 months of extensive use! The reason I've had so many different machines is that I'd use them for a while...they would get a little "buggy" and I'd give them to a new employee. I'm hanging on to this one because it's perfect. No Complaints at all!

This laptop is quite useful..battery life is excellent at lasting for about 2.5 to 3 hours with normal use. I finished Star wars Episode 1 before it was close to the battery running out. The graphics are so so, this laptop is definately not ment for a gamer. If you want a gaming laptop...get one with a Geforce 2 Go in it. But other than that, this is an excellent laptop.

This computer has performed up to my expectations and, in my opinion, it's the best value on the market now. One word of caution though, it's HEAVY. It's not really something you want to carry around for a long time.

I kick myself every time I try to use this worthless piece of frustration. I hate it. It shuts down all the time. The sound card doesn't work. Half the time, when it boots up, the screen is black. Keep rebooting, and eventually, it will display and image. I hate it. I hate Toshiba products. I will never ever buy another one. And, of course, all this started immediately after it was out of warranty.

Toshiba Satellite 1805-S254 is a terrible computer. I bought from Amazon.com last December (2001),the DVD driver did not work when I received.The problem was that I could not read the contents of a CD. After being serviced by Toshiba, the problem was solved partly, but I still can not read the CD contents when I log on as a normal user. After 3 months, the system board stopped working, and the service person told me I had to wait weeks to get a new board. I am still waiting, and I do not know when I can get one. If you want to buy a laptop computer, be cautious of this model.
