IT BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES(IN THE BEST WAY)

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Aug

I bought this tv as soon as it came out and when they unpacked it from the box I nearly cried before they even plugged it in. Then I watched my first movie (GHOST IN THE SHELL). It's at that point that I did cry...in the best way.
This is without a doubt the best image for the dollar and it is humungous! I sit approximately 12 feet away, and even if I were to sit 5 feet away, I'd see absolutely no scan lines. The investment of a progressive-scan player(I use a Sony NS700P) and all the component-video cables and such were well worth it, also.
You will never find a better picture. In my opinion, it was even much better than the Sony Widesreens I was looking at. If it's a Widescreen TV your looking for, I highly recommend this one or--if you have the room--the 65H81.

I did alot of researce before selecting the toshiba 57"hdtv.I am well pleased with the selection. The picture is wonderful. This is
a really good set at a great price. When I ordered there was free shipping, which I thought was really nice.Amazon keep me posted on my order and did a good job seeing the order through. It was strange placing an order for a tv online, but with the service Amazon gave me,I felt like they really delivered the goods.Amazon
made a good impression on me.The tv speaks for itself,it really rocks.

In Living Color

(5 out of 5) by Joseph Boone on Jun

I did a lot of research before buying and, for its price range, this TV seemed like the best bang for the buck. When I finally took the plunge it initially looked like I had made a horrible mistake. Right out of the box, the picture was truly horrible. After quickly using a reference disk with calibration patterns to tune the TV, an amazing transformation took place. The picture was absolutely gorgeous!
I've now had this TV for several months, and can honestly say it's been a great purchase. Perhaps the most noteworthy strength is how vivid the colors are. Really, it's virtually impossible to overstate how beautifully and powerfully colors appear on screen. Put "Toy Story" in your DVD player and put it on the screen of this baby and your jaw will hit the floor.
Give yourself a treat and bring one home soon. You'll be glad you did.

OH MY GOD

This was definitely one of the best purchases I have ever made. The clarity of this television will blow you away. One complaint that I have to make is the fact that I had to purchase surround sound after I received the television. This tv with surround sound and a good dvd player will make you want to watch all of your old movies all over again. I am beyond impressed and very happy with the toshiba brand name after making this purchase. (one small note, the green projection lense went bad after a week, but warranty covered it)

This TV does not disappoint

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Apr

I purchased this TV in November after much research online and in the various stores...This was the best set for the price and I could not be more satisfied. After 5 months of owning it, I don't know how I did without it! The picture is clear, the sound is terrific and nicely complements my home theater system...Although leary about spending nearly [$] for a purchase online, I was very happy to save the cost of shipping and sales tax. My only complaint was that the company that delivered the set sent only one person for what is clearly a two person job. I ended up having to help the guy get it into my house.
