(5 out of 5) by B. Beth on Nov 14, 2006 (United States)This little number has been fantastic. It finally died after about 8 years and I bought another of the same model in part because I couldn't find another option without purchasing a whole phone, which I don't need.
Records clearly enough, can get messages remotely which I like. Memo function is great for last minute thoughts before I fall asleep. No tape, so people can leave longer messages.
However, after a long silence it will end the recording. It has to sense when someone has "hung up..." so if you have a VERY slow speaker it might be a nuisance.

i didn't have any high expectation when i bought it, just needed a cheap machine to answer calls when i wasn't home, and this systm did the trick, i bought it last year in november, five months ago, and its working fine. i don't have any problems with it, i haven't even changed the battries yet.
