After a couple of years of adequate service, the answering machine just stopped working. Perhaps it was jostled in the move, but who wants an answering machine that can't handle being bumped?

With the DSL filter you can hear someone leaving a message but it doesn't actually register and record the message. Without the DSL filter it records the message but it's so garbled with interference that you can't understand it. I'll give it 3 stars despite these issues, because set up was easy and it works without DSL (as well as can be expected for a CHEAP product).

If you have DSL only buy this: 1-to screen calls when you're home (with filter on), 2-to set an outgoing only message, 3-for any sort of target practice, or 4-to dissect for a science project...

Its a great litte machine however don't misplace the owners manuel because it becomes just another answering machine almost impossible to figure out how to chg date and time stamp ect

The digital voice is very hard to understand. Not good because you have to rely on it to program the machine. Voice quality and sound quality are pathetic. I will pay for sound quality, but the sound quality of this machine is worth about 25 cents! Bought yesterday, returning today.

I have owned this answering machine for quite some time and never had problems with it. I think its great quality and is perfect as a messaging system!
