I picked this up on the recommendation of a friend, and I'm not disappointed. Considering you can get this monitor ... after rebates and coupons if you know where to look, it's a great deal. Keep in mind that a 15" LCD has almost as much viewable area as a 17" CRT monitor, and the price doesn't even seem that steep. I've reclaimed some valuable desk space, and my desk hutch doesn't heat up any more like it used to because of the heat generated by my previous CRT. Very bright, very clear, and works great with standard video cards/cables (digital not necessary). Samsung has come a long way in electronics, IMO. I really notice the difference when I use someone else's CRT now.

I am taking the time to write this review because I am so impressed with this product. I wanted a flat screen because of both the space saving, and the appearance, but did not want to invest a lot of money in an extra monitor. What I never expected was the image quality. The colours are clear, clean, and vibrant.

I spend a lot of time doing detailed design work, work on photos and video, (and have worked with several high-end monitors) yet am really pleased with the image quality. And at the Amazon price, I really feel I have gotten a bargain.

I have to say that I think Samsung has come up with another winner. Word seems to be getting out as well, since I have started noticing this particular monitor in a lot of places -- particularly some design-conscious places of business.

So my CRT monitor decided to spazz out and die on me, and I had been contemplating a flat-screen for its eventual replacement. Well, the death of the old CRT forced my hand, and I ended up purchasing this Samsung, and I am quite impressed. Very sharp, bright as day, nice color, thin footprint, sturdy & well-manufactured, highly energy compliant, incredibly useful auto-adjust feature (no need to twiddle the horizontal/vertical hold for hours to get a full screen view,) easy to use, video drivers included on disk, ample viewing area, roomy look, and a steal of a price. I had it out of the box, unpacked, installed, and looking perfect in less than 10 minutes.

Flat-screen monitor prices may have bottomed out, so if you are in the market for a snazzy upgrade from that ancient CRT of yours and are looking for a great quality monitor at a great price, you have just found your future flat-screen friend.

I installed this monitor yesterday. It is wonderfully small, image quality is fine, sharp looking...

but the TEXT is FUZZY. I got a headache trying to write a letter on it. I adjusted the settings with no luck at clearing up the fuzzy text. Almost looks like a shadow is added to the text. If you are not using the monitor for any word processing this might be a good buy. I am returning ours.

This is my first LCD and I will never get a non-Samsung LCD again. We also recently purchased a ViewSonic LCD, the clarity and quality is very poor compared to the Samsung. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Samsungs warranty support is great (had a problem with dirvers), my problem was resolved within 20 minutes. Great job again, Samsung!
