Sony is keeping tradition as the best with this player

When my old Panasonic broke down, I needed to find a cheap CD player that could perform. This was it. Even the cheapest Sonys wont let you down. Here's the low-down-
Good thing(s)-
1) Sound is incredible. The 2-step mega bass is the best bass boost I have ever seen. It competes with my JVC powered subwoofers at home. Also, digital volume can go very loud, and music is very clear.
2) Player is durable. This is basically true of all Sonys, they will take your abuse. No other brand can take punishment like a Sony.
3) Tough laser. You can punch this thing 4 times with the esp OFF and it wont skip. This is a trend that has kept up since before skip protection existed.
4) Impossible-to-beat-ESP. I can't get it to skip! It takes 10 seconds to skip the thing with the esp off- with it on I can't get it to skip, even running.
5) CD Playback. What I mean by this is how it can play scratched CDs. It does it much better than anything. Even my Office Space CD, with a gash through song 11, will still play [but i dont recommend playing skipped parts.]
6) Weight. Although kind of heavy, you can barely notice it is there if you weigh enough =). No complaints at all here
Bad thing(s)-
1) Options. You can't even program tracks on this, but for the money it makes sense.
2) Size. It is fairly wide, but more long and slim, making it good to fit in a large-sized cargo pocket. Not much of a complaint there.
In summary, this is the best CD player I have bought yet. If you have the money, I would suggest going up to the Sonys with LED remotes but this will work just as well.

The New Sony CD Walkmen RULE!

I just have to post words of love about this product - I got one 2 weeks ago, and it is AWESOME. It's really hard to get it to skip WITHOUT the anti-skip protection being on, the design is brilliantly thought out (example: automatic resume on all CDs so it goes back to the track you stopped it at, UNLESS you open the lid - it "knows" you've opened it and it'll start again at the beginning), I mean, this is one of the best products I own besides my Swiss Army Knife. One noticeable downside is that it doesn't have an independent line-out, so you'll just have to set the volume at your favorite level for routing it through an amplifier. However, that's about the only nit I've found to pick about this CD player. Oh yeah, just one more thing: TWENTY-HOUR BATTERY LIFE!

Perfect!!!

If you want just a CD player this is as good as any portable CD player out there (no matter the price). It doesn't do MP3, but I don't care. It can play burnt normal CDs though. I had a Sony Discman for 5 years (almost 6) and it stopped doing stereo sound so I decided I wanted another Sony because my Discman had no problems for 5 years and 9 months. Man, this has excellent sound. I had the volume as loud as it goes with Bass Boost on 3rd level and it didn't screw up the sound, and I could hear it across the room while it was going through the headphones. The headphone that come with it are excellent, they produce great sound and are very comfortable. My mom even loves it, she wants to get one and mini speakers for the office. It's not much bigger than the CDs. Oh, also I put the sound to teh test, I played some Creed, Saliva, and Korn to test it for hard rock and it had no problems. I even played some trance, techno, and hip hop on there with no problems. I listen to it on the bus and on half way I can barely hear people within 2 feet of me unless they yell. Also, I can't get it to skip! I tried everything. I literaly played frisbee with my friend while I was listening (on a bed so if it dropped it wouldn't get hurt and from a short distance too) and it didn't skip. I even tried shaking it like I was making Kool-Aid and it wouldn't skip. If ESP Max absoloutely won't skip then why would G Protection be better? It will not skip! The sound also is so good that when I play CDs on my PC I have to adjust because I get used to the superiority of this CD player's sound...But I do have a car kit (i've had it) and the cig lighter DC 4.5 in and it works great.

I bought this cd player close to a year ago and am satified to say that it hasnt given me problems until recently. Id like to add to that though that it was my fualt...go figure. I highly reccomend this item for anyone who likes to listen to music without all the skipping, and stopping etc, but without the large price tag. My favorite features of this player are the bass boost, volume limiter,(avls)and the 4 different play modes. i would have given this product 5 stars if it had a pause button. But hey, no biggy. Hope this will help you with your purchase.

It's all about the bass.

I love this cd player! The bass is unreal! It has three levels. No extra, regular boost, and not for the weak of heart levels. All in all I recomend this cd player to any body. It is the best!
