Perfect For The Car

(5 out of 5) by Nathan Huth on Aug 26, 2001 (Shiner "Bock", Texas)
I bought this Coby portable CD player mainly because it is great for the car. It's 9-hour playback is good for long trips so you don't have to change batteries often. The CD-R compatibility is able to play my homemade CDs without error. It's styling will help grab younger music listeners. The DBBS extra bass system really helps to enhance your music. It also comes with a handy AC adapter input, along with a seperately bought AC adapter, is great for listening to music without batteries. It's 24 track programability is a plus if you want to listen to certain tracks in your own order. It also has a six-digit track and time display, and random and repeat disc play which are all great added features. It comes with high sound quality stereo headphones so you don't have to use extra money to buy them seperately. Since it has no anti-skip feauture, it skips when jolted but, it still doesn't like to skip. This CD player is safe to go on regular car rides but, if your car goes over a moderate bump, it will skip. I tried joggging with it and it skipped every other second. So, I don't recommend it for jogging. But still, it is a nice CD player for the price.

decent for the price

(4 out of 5) by Michelle on Sep 23, 2001 (New England)
I bought this cd player because I ruined the first one that I had in my car and I didn't have a lot of money to spend on a new one. This player features a line-out jack and a dc jack, so if you've already got the equipment for using it in your car, this adapts just fine. The one major drawback is that you get skips when the player is barely touched, but as long as you have something to set it on, i.e. a sweater, it works great. A good basic, no frills cd player for its price range.

Medium Priced CD

(3 out of 5) by David Fields on Sep 14, 2001 (Lincoln, Nebraska United States)
This mid priced CD player lacks the sound of players in the upper range. The first thing I had to do was replace the headphones as the ones provided did not have decent clarity and gave a distorted sound. However, once that was done the sound fell into the medium-good (and passing) quality.

The player stalls and skips when hitting bumps, and when being touched at the top of the cover while playing.

However, the tracking is overall pretty good, the features work, and as long as you dont use this heavily and for things such as running or jogging, it is a passable player.
