Great for the office!
If you're looking for small speakers at this price range, you shouldn't be expecting much. Given that, these light and small speakers do just the trick for the office if you want to listen to music sans headphones but not loud enough to get on your coworkers' nerves. Plus, these speakers don't need a dedicated power source and can run off the juice running through the input line. But like all disapproving homeboys, a little bass to shake some booty in the cubicle would've been nice.

Great little non-amplified speakers.
I am sorry for all of those folks who bought these expecting loud/amplified sound that would be able to cut through a lot of background noise, because these speakers will not do that. However, they do work very nicely for my tiny little mp3 player, and when I had my old walkman hooked up at my workstation/office at my job. The sound quality is decent, and at maximum volume on the walkman/cd player/mp3 player that I am using, these little speakers keep my happy, and do not rattle the folks next door. I have had these for about 6 years now, and now for 2-5 bucks, these are worth a shot. I paid 15 originally because they were new. They do not owe me a thing. A strong plus is that they are durable. I have found this out because I am clumsy, and so are folks that put stuff on my workspace. These have fallen from 12 inches from shelf to desk sever dozen times, not a problem. I hope you don't give up on these little speakers because some folks have put them to use with to high of expectations.

Save your money-Don't buy these speakers!!!
These speakers made my already hard-to-hear laptop...sound worse. Actually 'worse' is not the right word. It was like turning the volume down to less than one barline.
1-star rating is too high.

Not really worth for 10$
I too bought this speaker for my mp3 player and its not really good. Even with the maximum volume i can hardly hear anything.
I suggest if people want to buy speakers for usb mp3player, please go for some good ones which has a inbuilt or external amplification with sound controls in it...

Great portable speakers
These little speakers are really portable, you can carry them to work, school, parties, etc. Once you've finished listening to them and want to store them somewhere, all you need to do is connect them to each other (using the little connecting slots on the bottom), wind the wire around it and you've got a neat little bundle you can take anywhere and set up in seconds. The only power supply they need is from your CD player/MP3 player/ walkman etc., and this is very helpful. However, the only bad point is the small sound volume. I use these speakers with my iPod Mini, and even when I turn the volume up full, it isn't really as loud as it should be. There is no volume adjusting knob/switch on the speakers, you have to adjust the volume using your music player.
