D.O.A!!! Well Almost
I thank Aiwa for one thing. That this player died on the 29th day of my 30 day return policy. There is no way Im shipping this piece to have it repaired. I thought this was the greatest player ever until it started making a loud wobbling noise and flashing "ERR" and not playing the disc. I changed batteries, plugged it in and it made no difference. I took a leap and paid $...for this and it is dead! I feel very violated and don't know who to trust since my Panasonic died (albeit after 2 years of mild abuse) and everything out there worth it's salt is $...or more. I just need a good CD player that doesnt skip that I can work out with!
If it's GREAT for me it's gotta be PERFECT for u
Though I'm only 14, I know a lot about electronics (u'd think so after living with 3 electronic/computer geniuses [my dad, grandad, and brother] my whole life). This CD player has all the major features I was looking for: AM/FM radio, CD-R/RW capability, bass boost (gotta have that), and like the guy above me said: TERRIFIC headphones, and all for a great price! I was looking for a Sony Walkman with these features, but those stupid things are expensive AND ONLY COME WITH "ONE OR THE OTHER" OF THE FEATURES!!! This is great EVERYTHING I NEED for a GREAT price, all in one product!

Nice price
But the price got even better AFTER I received mine. I paid 99 bucks and now you can get it for 89 bucks. Oh well, you can't win them all. The unit seems like it will do everything I need. It would be nice to have a belt clip with it. I wasn't that concerned about a belt clip initially because it's advertised as including a sports pouch. Just like another reviewer though I found that it does NOT include one. Overall I think the player will do what I want and that is to take the boredom out of jogging/

what the heck
this is a pretty cool cd player! What i want to know is, the 12 year old reviewer above me, did he actually write that or did Aiwa write that? i mean do you think a 12 year old actually would spell everything right and include that it needs "two alkaline batteries" i mean really no twelve year old would say anything about the word alkaline. he would just say batteries. My opionion for you is dont believe everything you read on some products, because companies hire people to write reviews on places that have them. Something for you to think

Defective??
I like the advertised features- 48 sec. anti-shock memory, DSL bass, CD-R/RW playback, radio tuner. This would be a great CD player if it wasn't defective!!
The radio tuner often "freezes" for no apparent reason. I then have to remove the batteries to un-freeze it and I lose all of my preset stations. This is a real inconvenience if you're out walking or jogging! Also, the single track repeat mode does not work. In the beginning I also had problems with the headphone output, but that seems to have cleared up. Perhaps my unit is defective or perhaps they are all like mine- I wouldn't know- AIWA didn't include any contact information so I don't even know how to get service on the darn thing and it's been to long to return it to the store!
