Broke after 6 months as well....

(1 out of 5) by Snoop Dogg on Dec 22, 2002 (SAYVILLE, NY United States)
There is definately something wrong with this item if more than one person is complaining about how it broke in 6 months. Out of nowhere it just stopped playing. I suggest buying a better brande like Panasonic.... the shockwave is a great investment. Don't waste your time or money on this cd player. Unless u want to burn a hole in your pocket.

Excellent Value

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 1, 2001 (New York City)
I have found this product excellent. I mostly use it bike riding and have found the anti-skip truly works. The sound quality is great, the headphones extremely comfortable and the neoprene pouch comfortable. My son has borrowed it when he jogs and agrees with great sound and comfort. Highly recomend this product. Battery life is good also.

The Best of the Best

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jul 27, 2001
I got this CD Player in any normal day. I was looking forward to a PANASONIC CD player but this is what I got. And i'm happy that I got this one. I mean, what elese could you ask for? -CD-R Playback -Water Resistant -48 Second Anti shock -Rechargeable Capability -A digital AM FM Tuner -And 27 hour playback on two alkaline batteries! I recommend you to get this CD Player A.S.A.P!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Latch problem

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Apr 13, 2004
I purchased one of these units and they sound really great! I really enjoyed the XP-SR320 until the cds played intermittently. I believe the problem is with the locking latch. When closing the cover and locking it sometimes the cd would not mount but when push down on the cover with my hand the display would show that a cd was ready to play, when I let go the display would go blank. The cd would play fine as long as I pushed down on the lock but it finally went bad altogether but the radio still works. The unit worked fine about 6 months. My friend also had this same unit and his unit stop playing cds as well. It's kind of disapointing because this is one of the best sounding portable cd players I have ever heard.

Great

I have always been an very loyal Aiwa buyer and this player didn't disappoint me. It is a great bang for the buck. I read some reviews any some spoke of quality problems and i would like to point out that those problems are pretty frequent in Sony, Panasonic and other brand too. The main problem is that the drive axle gets a bit loose after lots of use and the cd "tilts" while spinning. This creates friction and sometimes in severe cases can cause the cd player to stop playing. Aiwa has been a very reliable brand in my oppinion and they REALLY shines in cassette decks. They make portable cassette decks with CD quality. As a side note i would like to point out that Aiwa is in fact a division of Sony. Sony has a 50% controlling stake in the company. Anyway, in portable audio, u can't go wrong with Aiwa.
