Excellent purchase, compatible with everything

(5 out of 5) by L. Kimes on Jan 8, 2002 (LA, CA)
Compatible with everything I do that is. I've burned VCD, XVCD, SVCD and audio CD on my computer, all of them work without a problem. I've noticed a few people complain about lack of info. ...so here's the specs from mine.

It has 5 30W satellite speakers and a 50W subwoofer. Has AM/FM receiver along with digital & analog inputs & outputs for satellite receivers, vcrs and computers. Its a complete home theater system, in addition to doing DVD. 200W is PLENTY for my apartment, but what I really bought it for was its ability to read every single video I could want to use. I haven't tried it yet, but it claims to support DVD-R too.

Great Starter System

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 5, 2002
I didn't want to pay too much for my first home theater system so I waited until I found a unit with everything I needed for my price. This was it. It has all more inputs and outputs than similar grade (and much higher priced) Sony and Panasonic systems. S-video, composite, component, Outputs for adding on a cd/dvd burner or cassette player; Plays VDC,CD, DVD, CDR CDRW MP3's. I am not a a real freak about sound, so I cannot get really picky here, but I think it sounds alot better than the stereo speakers on my TV. You can make the center channel louder than the other channels in dolby digital 5.1 so you can hear the dialog without blowing everyone out when the dinos started stomping. The subwoofer has a control knob so you can adjust quickly if it gets too loud.

home theater for low price

(4 out of 5) by Zoran Matkovic on Oct 20, 2001 (Germany)
Good price/quality. The satellite speakers could be in wooden boxes though. My manual came in German, but as far as I could understand it, I should have got a Euro/SCART cable to connect to a TV set, but there wasn't one.
Has a lot of different inputs and that was the Daewoo's major advantage over the competition. It was the main reason i bought it. A complete Dolby Digital reciver with all the necessary inputs and outputs, integrated with a DVD player !
5X30 W should be enough for a home cinema. Subwoofer has 50 W. Remote control is included, of course.

Great system?

(2 out of 5) by S. F. J. Smeets on Aug 18, 2002 (Utrecht Netherlands)
I bought this DVD Home Theater system a few months ago. It's not too expensive but then again it's very heavy and large and not well designed at all. So If you want it to look good DO NOT BUY THIS.

Another problem I had with my DV-115 is that the DVD's I play always have a "break" in them. This may be due to the changing layers but I feel there are often more "breaks" and at different moments in the disc.

Also at regular intervals my players starts to slow down. The picture and sound slow down, become slurred and that isn't a problem with the discs because changing discs doesn't help at all.

So WHEN it works it's a great (albeit quite large) system, but I can't rely on it to work properly...
