Well, I don't know what other FAX manufactures do but I felt totally ripped-off after I opened the box on this Panasonic KX-FP151 FAX machine to find a skimpy "starter ink film roll" good only for only 30 pages instead of a full roll which is good for 150 pages. Nowhere on the outside of the box nor in the description of this machine is it mentioned that only a starter roll is included. The instruction manual "suggests" that you purchase a full roll. The full roll [money]. This is [an inexpensive] fax machine - purchasing a new film roll for this unit out-of-the-box effectively increases the cost of this product by 25%.

My suggestion to Panasonic: Don't try to rip off your customers ... either put a full roll in the box or clearly indicate on the outside of the box that a 30 sheet starter roll is included.

My suggestion to consumers: Add [money] to the price of this machine when comparison shopping. If you decide to buy this product order an ink film at the same time.

I have had no problems with this machine so far. I've only recieved two faxes with no trouble. Some of the reviews I've read about other Panasonic fax machines are'nt very encouraging. I wish I had read them before I bought my model KXFP151. I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
