I had purchased this toy long ago. My daughter, then was almost 4, now she is 7 going on 8 and still loving it. Now, my young lad is playing & learning with it too.
As a mother of ADHD/ODD/OCD children, I know first hand how hard it can be to keep a child's interest.
The evening we bought LeapPad home she sat for almost 4 hours. This has been a tremendous learning tool for her, not that she had any trouble learning. That wasn't it at all. What was going on was she was and still is learning very fast for her age. She can learn at her own level. I try...lol to keep up with levels above her but she is right there.
This product like I said is tremendous!!! I love the fact that such a toy can be attractive to the eye where children want to play with it. I love it that as they are playing games they are also learning and they don't even know it.
I would recommend this product to any child....the average child, a learning disabled child and a child that is above average.
GREAT JOB LEAP PAD!!!

My 6 year old LOVES her Leap Pad! We bought it for her last Christmas, but she did not show much interest at first. During the summer she took it in the van with her and she got to where she would not go unless she could take it! Now she uses it all the time. She is learning to recognize the words, and loves playing the games too. The only thing I wish the electronic pen were more durable; if the leap pad starts to slide off of her lap she tends to grab the pen and the weight of the leap pad makes it easy for it to come away from the pen. Would be nice if it was "wireless". I highly recommend this great educational "toy" for any 5/6/7 year old!

NOT ONLY WAS I IMPRESSED BY THE ADVERTISEMENTS FOR THIS ITEM, WHEN I PERSONALLY WENT INTO MY LOCAL TOYS R US STORE, AN EMPLOYEE IN THE TOY DEPARTMENT, PERSONALLY GAVE BOTH MYSELF AND MY SISTER-IN-LAW AN EXTENSIVE DEMONSTRATION OF THIS TOY'S (AND I HESITATE TO SAY TOY BECAUSE IT IS REALLY AN EDUCATIONAL WONDER) CAPABILITIES! MUCH TO OUR COMPLETE JOY, WE WERE AMAZED, SPEECHLESS, AND WELL-INFORMED! AT THAT MOMENT, WE BOTH REALIZED THAT NOT ONLY WAS THIS A "MUST-HAVE" FOR OUR FIVE-YEAR OLDS, BUT FOR OUR OTHER CHILDREN AS WELL! (NOT TO MENTION WE LEARNED, OR SHALL I SAY "REMEMBERED" CERTAIN FACTS ABOUT MATH, THE HUMAN BODY, ETC., THAT WE HAD LONG FORGOTTEN - HE DEMONSTRATED WITH SEVERAL LEAP PAD BOOKS). I RECOMMEND THIS ITEM NOT ONLY AS A WONDERFUL GIFT BUT ALSO AS A MUST-HAVE! IT IS SO MUCH MORE THAN A TOY, MORE IMPORTANTLY, IT IS AN EDUCATIONAL DEVICE AND ONE THAT I AM CERTAIN, WILL BE UTILIZED, ENJOYED AND MUCH APPRECIATED! IF I COULD RATE THE STARS HIGHER THAN A "5" I WOULD SAY "GO ALL THE WAY AND DOUBLE THAT - I MOST CERTAINLY GIVE IT A "10"!!!!

I bought this for my kids to share last year (ages 3 & 4 then, now 4 & 5) and they love it. I leave it in the car and it entertains and teaches them as I drive. The only problem is that they love it so much that I have to buy another one because they both want to use it at the same time. So I am planning on buying the pink/purple one for my daughter this Christmas.

My daughter is developmentally delayed & loves her LeapPad. She takes it with her everywhere she goes & enjoys the fact that it talks back to her. She's learned alot about numbers and letters and now says full sentences. A great educational toy A+ to Leap Frog.
