Fit my needs

I was affraid if it works - there is lot's of frequencies & parameters. But I must say it works perfectly - have quite long range detection (works also from rear) it's easy to hide (restrictions) - and battery last for long (~10 - 12hours on 1800 mAh rechargable AA). You can also easly plug it to any 12 V DC power source. Overall - I'am glad I have this item.

TOO MANY FALSES
(2 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Nov 17, 2001This radar detector looked promissing and the reviews seemed positive, especially on its predecessor, the 880. What Bel has done is make this one more sensitive, which sounds like it will pick up more cops but all it does it pick up more falses. Its an analogue detector meaning it will go off when anything analogue and digital comes into its beam, cell phones, towers, and especially OTHER RADAR DETECTORS...I had it for 15 days, detected one cop, and it did a good job, but it was way too annoying and would have many sudden KA alerts that were bogus...I now own the 950, a digital detector, and I am much more satisfied...

Good Radar

(1) Display is way to shiny and it reflects everything in the car. When a band goes off, it is hard to read what letter it is displaying with the display being so reflective. Changing the brightness doesn't help.
(2) Windshield bracket is so flimsy that the radar keeps jumping up and down whenever i am driving on a not so perfect pavement.
PROS:
(1) Relatively cheap
(2) Detects bands well, but sometimes a little too late. I guess it has also a lot to do if you are going over a hill or somthing else. Overall performance wise, it is not bad.

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Apr 13, 2002As far as laser detectors go, this is the one to get. Unfortunately, the advancements have slowed down in the last year. Considering price vs. efficiency, this is the one to get. I have to travel through several states every month for my job, and who knows how many meetings I would have been late for if it weren't for my Beltronics Express 946 laser/radar detector!

Great product

I don't have a lot of experience with radar detectors but this one has performed as expected. As far as I can tell, it has been extremely accurate from all directions.
