Not completely worthless.

If you want to take pictures, this definitely isn't what you want. Most of what has already been said is correct. What redeems this camera is that it makes a decent USB webcam. So if that's what you need, go for it.

Jazz DC-10 review

(3 out of 5) by DEANNE on Jun 4, 2002 (Concord, CA United States)
You know the old saying "you get what you pay for". This isn't a bad little camera (not great-but NOT bad). Common sense is needed. You have to know you can't take team pictures - only a close-up of your "star". You have to know you can't take moving shots - only stills will work. I just can't believe anyone would expect high quality from something they paid ... for... so really, this is a great little hand-held camera--especially if you are a realtor taking pix of a home to be sold. Great for that!

Very disappointed

I am very disappointed with this Jazz JDC 10 digital camera.
I bought the camera in December 2001 and I can only say, that the reviews from January 2002 are absolutely correct from what I experienced.
1. The camera keeps pictures only if turned on. After some time, to save energy, it goes into stand-by mode. To use it again, you have to press the "Mode" button. Most people press intuitively the ON/OFF button to get the camera back to work. But if you press by accident the "ON/OFF" button, all pictures are lost. I think this was a very confusing and user unfriendly design decision.
2. The viewer shows only about 60 percent of what is captured. So you normally end up with more on the picture than wanted. This would be acceptable, if the resolution would be higher. There is no chance to enlarge portions of the digital image. The quality does not allow it.
3. The bad resolution forces you to take pictures as close as possible. But due to the fact that the viewer shows you less than what you have on the picture, you end up in most of the cases with low quality pictures because you are still to far away.

DO NOT BUY THIS WORTHLESS CONTRAPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 16, 2002
I know that it is a cheap digital camera and my expectations were low, but I was not prepared for just how bad it was. If the picture quality were any worse you would not be able to tell what it was a picture of. I truly have no idea what the other reviewer is talking about when they say that they were impressed with the quality of the photos they took. I really do not think that Amazon should carry such a worthless product. If I sound harsh, buy the camera for yourself and try it out. Then come back here and write your own review.

This camera has no Jazz

I needed a cheap, digital camera to take photos for my web site. I was cautioned to not spend less than 200.00 for any digital camera. I figured I could try out this one. I was very dissapointed. My first unhappy experience with the camera, was the slice I got in my hand trying to open the package. the plastic wrapping was almost impossible to remove, and it was very sharp. The next problem was the fact that photos are only stored if the camera is on, shut it off and lose your photos. the biggest problem was the photo quality, very poor to say the least. I hope I can return it with no problems.
