lots of options, easy programming, auto repeat heaven

(4 out of 5) by Paul Smith on Mar 6, 2002 (Fairhaven, Ma United States)
This is my 5th vhs vcr(also had a couple of beta's)and is the easiest to operate of them all. It is actually fun to program because it is so completly idiot proof. If you are a fan of "auto repeat" this is the deck for you. Can pick any section of a tape and repeat it endlessly.(most decks allow only the whole tape to be repeated) Index search works perfectly. My only complaint is with the playback in sp mode. There is a slight whistling sound which can be noticed during quiet passages of video play. Also plays tapes that were recorded on my old and long departed machines. This is a big plus for many of us who have extensive video collections.

Okay...if you want to keep buying it

VCR's are definately skittish, especially this one. We bought it previously a year ago..and then it konked out on us...then we purchased it from Amazon..because it works with our TV since it is an RCA. I don't know why we bought it again..I am waiting for it to die like the first one did! DVD players are the better thing to purchase, they don't eat the VHS! (...)

Wow this is a great value!

I found that the RCA 4 head VCR is the best I have ever owned. The instructions are easy to follow and it is a great instument to add to your collection. Amazon.com delivered my VCR in three days of my order and I am very happy with my choice.
I have to admit that this is a larger version VCR than the last one I had, but with all that it has to offer and delivers, it is worth the space it takes.

RCA VR708HF VCR

(5 out of 5) by Robert D. Clay on Aug 24, 2001 (Jamul, CA USA)
I have a number of older tapes recorded in the extended mode (6 hour) that cause most VCRs to have significant tracking problems. This RCA VCR plays them impeccably.

Admirable 4 Head VCR from RCA

(5 out of 5) by gobirds2 on Jul 31, 2001 (New England)
This is an excellent VCR and it records and plays pictures back exceptionally well. At this price you can't beat it. If you have old tapes that were recorded in the LP (4-hour mode) you will find that all RCA VCRs play tapes back recorded at this speed better than any other manufacturers' units. RCA was the last manufacturer to offer LP recording capability before all manufacturers discontinued to offer it. A real great feature is Movie Advance, Commercial Advance and an Automatic head-cleaning system. This unit has VCR+ Gold. This RCA also comes with a multibrand remote control and at a good price.
