AWESOME! SOUND

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jul 24, 2001
These speakers are great. I don't know much about speakers but I do know what a great speakers sound like. If you like Super SOUND get this system.

Note: You need two audio inputs for these speakers to work properly. Or you can buy an adapter for your machine.

"Wow" is pretty much the only word to discribe these speakers. The sound is perfect, and for the money is impossible to beat. When i turn the surround sound off and only play music from the front 2, they are like any other speakers but with the addition of the 2 rear speakers the quality becomes outstanding. Also, dont let the size of these speakers fool you. They can become very loud and wall shaking. The base can thump the floor if wanted too. With the combination of all 5 speakers it becomes the perfect speakers for any price under 300 dollers. I highly recomend these speakers.

There is one defualt to these speakers, but a small one if that. The 2 rear speaker stands arent the greatest quality, but im sure thats the least of your concerns as far as great sounding speakers.

I also searched these speakers on other websites and all of these exact speakers cost $145.00 or more! The deal that amazon gives you is one you cannot refuse. So accept my oppinion and get these.

Fantastic speakers, and now quite reasonably priced!

I wanted these speakers pretty bad when they were [$$$] everywhere, but I couldn't find any stores that carried them. I took a chance anyway when Amazon dumped the price to [$$$], and I truly love them. I "upgraded" from some Polk home bookshelf speakers and a 60W NAD amplifier, and I think the Bostons actually have a fuller range and are just as crisp and easy to listen to for extended periods. Excellent!

I personally don't want to watch DVDs so 4.1 sound works perfectly for me.

Great Price Great Sound!!

(5 out of 5) by Larry A. Priest on Mar 10, 2002 (Cobb, CA United States)
WOW! Am I impressed with these speakers! ... Gaming sound is an experience worth having. Just the right rumble and boom from the woofer and the small speakers are clear and lack distortion at the highest volume settings (how do they do that?). I did find that DVD volume was lower than I liked but I think it may have been the output of the DVD itself. Gaming sound made my wife SLAM the door of the computer room when that rocket plane took off in RTCW. It shook the floor!!! Get these. ... Good job Boston, as usual.

Boston is great as usual

Just got these speakers, and what can I say? They blow me away. Excellent sound quality (provided you play good mp3s), the 4 speaker mode has a way of accenting a bad sound file.
Pros: - Powerful sound
- Good clean, warm bass

Cons: - Rear speaker stands [are] real bad
- Not digital
