Great Product

(5 out of 5) by Jules Scogna on Sep 17, 2001 (Drexel Hill, Pa. United States)
If you have done your homework you know that there is another Panasonic CD Player one step up from this (SLTCT780). Now that model is nice but a little more expencive. The SLCT580 is a VERY good CD Player. First sound - The sound quality is unbeleavable. This player definatly deserves better headphones that the ones that are included. And with the X-Bass it is mind blowing! Second - Battery Life, there is not much to say, with the rechargeable batters just plug it in every 2 days and it will never die. Third Skipping - Or should i say how it never skips. With the No-Skip protection this CD player is perfect. And if i does skip the 40 sec. "Back Up" will make it sound like it never even skiped in the first place. Forth Size - OH The thinness!!! It is amazing with the rechargeable batterys or the AAA's it is probibly the thinest CD player out there. That is probibly it, i mean this CD play is definityly worth the $ and it is orver all a great way to listen to all your favorite groups.

Amazing sound quality

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jul 12, 2001 (Hillsboro, OR United States)
Read a review of this product on another site which indicated the sound quality was TOP NOTCH. I have to agree, unbelievable reproduction. Just plugged by Sennheiser's in and this sounds better than the Bose 901's hanging from the ceiling. Truely great sound reproduction.

Bought it in Japan

(5 out of 5) by Insignificant Grad Student on Jan 5, 2002 (California)
I bought this cd player last year in Japan (it came with more accessories - remote, worldwide adaptor, waterproof case, etc) and it is awesome! I use it to jog with and have it most of the time hooked up to this old stereo of mine to use the speakers on it (the cd player on the stereo broke a while ago).

The batteries are really nifty, super thin, and last a long time. This is the thinnest cd discman I've ever seen - thinner than all the others I saw in Japan, too. The sound is great no matter what headphones you use. Definitely worth buying!

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!

(5 out of 5) by Bob Foster on May 31, 2002 (Montrose, CO United States)
I'm getting ready to buy a second one for a backup - I never want to be without this. I hike every day and am very very hard on things. This CD player will hold up and the rechargeable battery feature is fabulous. I never worry about my batteries - just plug it in when I get home. It's also very light and has fantastic sound. Buy it! Don't screw around looking at all the others if what you need is a good basic CD ploayer that you can take with you.

Flimsee, not worth the money

(2 out of 5) by Michael on Dec 6, 2002 (GA)
This CD player is not worth the price, it has okay sound. I had mine for a couple of mounths when the top broke off. That was fine the warrany covered it, but 1 year latter the same thing happened. Anoother thing I would charge my batteries over night and they would only last a couple of hours.
