An ideal set for a bedroom

A separate swivel base is included, and its use is optional. I don't happen to need it. I would recommend this little jewel to anyone having a need for the features it has. GREAT TV/VCR Combo! EXCELLENT for Bedroom, Exercise Room, Playroom or Home Office!
(5 out of 5) by benbrattlover on Jul 11, 2006 (Michigan, USA) I got the first one of this TV/VCR combo over half a decade ago, and it is still working perfectly, with ABSOLUTELY no problems. It has lasted through 2-3 moves and is working as well as it did the day I bought it.
The only problem I've had in the 6-7 years since its purchase, is that a couple months ago, the remote went bad. But that was my own fault, because one night, the batteries died, and instead of putting on a brighter light when changing the batteries, I thought I could do it fine in a dim, near dark light. I ended up putting the batteries in the wrong directions (polarity) and after that the remote no longer worked. But it was no problem, because I got a Universal remote that works almost as well (though I've yet to be able to locate the "VCR Tape Record Speed Change" function)
All in all this TV/VCR is a sturdy, and reliable TV, and is EXCELLENT as a TV for the bedroom, exercise room, kids playroom rec room or home office!
I love this GE TV/VCR combo so much that a few months ago I bought a SECOND identical TV for my bedroom (the other, older one is in the home office)
This second TV has an EVEN BETTER picture and is even more crystal clear than the Widescreen LCD cable-connected TV that is downstairs in the family room! Even with only a used rabbit-ears antenna, the picture and reception in more crisp than any of the "better" TV's connected to Comcrap Cable!!
This TV/VCR combo is WONDERFUL, and I recommend it wholeheartedly!
