The Radar Detector has already paid for itself 3 times over and I've only had it two months. Very few false readings and the range is perfect.

I have owned many a radar detector, and I bought the 9550 to keep up with technoligy, as my old detector was about 5 years old. the first 9550 i purchased had a orange display that was not visible even on a cloudy day, i returned it and was given the "new" 9550 with a green display, yes it was visible!!good start i thought, approximatly 1500 miles later, (mostly highway) i was still waiting for this thing to do something- anything, i met DPS, County, and city patrols with no response, maybe all of them had there radar off?-not!
the 9550 would alert on k-band at supermarkets, banks, stoplights ect, so once again i returned the unit, and was given the "new" 9550, it looked the same as the last one but had different sounds, that you could only hear if the car was not running, (yes-even @full volume, and im not deaf.)this detector did respond to a DPS car at approximatly 30 yards, and about a mile after i had aleady seen the patrol. if this sounds like a very negitive post. it is, save your money on this one. (yes the 5 year old radar detector is back in its proper place on my dash)

I bought this detector after I got a speeding ticket from a Sheriff which I was sure I would have avoided if I had had a detector in hand. I "tested" it on several occassions and I have to say that it did save me from a few tickets. My next ticket came in spite of my cherished detector from a well hidden trooper. The only sign from the detector was a short bleep, which I didn't think anything off until it was too late. The bottom line is that this detector does not have good long range detection, and if you do hear something chances are you've already been clocked! It is a nice detector if you want to be aware of emergency vehicles, some construction signs, and some cops with old equipment. The compas is also nice to have if you need to know quickly which way you're heading. But be cautious if you speed, because this baby won't tell you until its too late.

I am not pleased. There are not many false signals but there are not many signals period. I've been driving by cops that i'm sure have had their radar on and its not picking up anything. I do not feel confident that I will not get a ticket. It has great extra features as compared to another detector I had but if it dosn't detect well whats the point.

Lo que no se es si este producto es legal... bueno.. no me importa. --- Since I got this Radar Detector I didn't get any tickes in Buenos Aires, Thanks Cobra.. One think that I don't know is that if this product legal in Argentina??..well.. I don't care.
