Great price for a surround sound system, but also..

This system has some really good bass to it, it has surround sound, and its $..., impressive. My uncle has this system, and I can easily say its the best system on the market in its price range.

It has a more contemporary look than most systems now; much easier to place in a room that gets visited a lot than say my JVC.

I haven't seen any frequency ratings on this, but while listening to a CD with a lot of high and low notes, (Pink Floyd-Wish you were here) it hit even the notes that are hard to hear, audible and clear.

Overall, a great system, and hard to find.

Still rattlin the windows

I have had my philips c70 for 4 years. Me and my stereo have moved atleast 5-6 times. Its been through unruly children, teenagers, cats who like to lay upon it, and a terrier who likes the taste of the right speaker. After all that it still managed to get me kicked out of my apartment for "noise pollution". I LOVE IT!!!! It still works like it just came out of the box. I still use it as a home theater system. Except for the naw marks on the right speaker she still looks brand new.

EXCELLENT SYSTEM ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I have had this system for 4 years with a manufactor date of September 2000. I am a 14 year old who loves deep bass very loud and this system has satisfied me sense the day i bought it.
the surround speakers dont seem to do much at all but the main speakers are so loud u dont even here them. I have even hooked it to my pc and put the bass up 100% and it handled it like a champ.i also have a newer logitech Z-5300 for my computer with a single 100 watt THX certified sub but i think this Philips Shelf system dominates the Z-5300.

An excellent system.

I have had this system almost 5 years now, and it still rocks. This model appears to have only 4 speakers and no sub shown, my system is the model that has the center channel and subwoofer (the next model up in speakers, the unit is exactly the same). But the performace Is excellent. It carries good rich sound, including middle tones, often missed in the tiny cube speaker with sub systems. And the best part was that the price didn't break the bank when I bought it, but I could still rattle some windows. In all, excellent item. I admit that the system does have some problems with the random rotate feature of the CD player and get stuck between discs transitioning songs, but this is a problem in many of the bookshelf systems I have owned and that my friends have owned as well, including the other major brands such as Sony,Awia,JVC,RCA,GE. But it plays well. If you get a chance to purchase this system for a good price, take it, it could make a good system for the kids, or for the workshop or basement, or even still as a main system if you'd like.
