This is a great product.

I bought this player about 2 weeks ago. It is the second md player i have owned. The first one was the Sharp 722 it every thing on it broke and sharp would not send me anether one or ever fix it. Sharp sucks don't buy from them. Anyway, this one is great. It is the smallest player/recorder currently on the market. It is a little over 2 md cases thick. It is very easy to use witch is a plus. My other one was way to complicated and things would happen that I did not want to happen. Also the sound is excellent. this is a good player recorder for anyone. it is great.

i own the mz-r900(yes there's such kind of model)and i would like to write a few comments about sony usa: 1.if sony launched the new walkman trade mark,why don't they replace the "old" models which has the old trademark? 2.the mz-r 900 has mdlp(mini disc long play)why don't sony distribute the new md models which have already been launched in: united kingdom,japan,and other european countries. 3.the price of this player is high,if you'll search in other internet shopping sites you'll find it there chipper. 4.it is not the "world's smallest md recorder" yeah really AS OF 99!panasonic now has the smallest md recorder(which is not distributed in the us(as of 2000) 5.there's now a new technology called "dot play" which is a tiny disc that can handle 3 hours of music(in mp3). 6.it is recommended if you purchase a md recorder to come with a computer usb link or else it'll be a bit annoying to record mp3's. 7.since you live in the us,this is the best md recorder imported by official sony industries in the us. 8.no it's not! you can purchase the mz-r900 model on the internet.(search for yourself) have a nice day!

I ordered the MZR70 first and wasn't too impressed with it. The remote was pretty aweful and it felt a little breakable. The R90 I got instead has a much nicer feel to it. The remote is about 20x better than the R70 remote, and the body of the recorder seems much sturdier. It's like the difference between a $40 cd player and a $100 one.
Given the small price diffence, I'm glad I went for the higher model.

Having a lot of experince with minidisc players, i can easily say that the MZR90 is a great buy. It's practically skip free under all conditions including running. Its recording and titling capabilities are easy and compact. The option for two colors always allows for slight creativity. The remote has display/and playmode features so u never have to be bother to even take the remote out of your pocket. The headphones are foldable for compact storage, or you can use your old ones and plug them right into the remote. If you have a few extra dollars and a need for an MD Player I would get the MZR90.

What can i say, another great piece of kit, from sony. I have purchased other minidisc players, but i have only found sony to be the best out of the lot. The MZR-90 has some exllent features on it. For example LCD on both the unit and the remote control, this means that you dont have to fish the unit from your pocket to look at the name of the track, or to change it. The unit also has better bass on it than other minidisc players i have bought, thanks to sony. I'd say if you were looking to buy one, this is the best one to get, you won't find a beter one!!!!!!
