My daughter's "MUST-HAVE" keyboard!

Sep 2, 2002 - By Amazon Customer (Jackson, MS USA)

My daughter tried this keyboard out at the store. It has been on her "MUST-HAVE" list since that day. When I was young I had a Baby-Grand piano vs this Casio LK50. I think it is great to have a lighted-teacher keyboard instead of going for hourly lessons weekly. I explored the internet doing homework, this is a great buy. I know she will have many enjoyable hours learning to play. A "MUST-HAVE" for me to get this keyboard for her!

I tried it out at a store, and this thing rocks. The lighted keys really do help in playing pieces. I can't wait to get mine... =)

Make Music As Simple As 1, 2, 3!!

Nov 20, 2006 - By John A. Shachter (Elgin, IL, USA)

When I purchased this Keyboards off of one of those shopping networks on TV, I had some visions of becoming the next John Tesh, or Liberace. Well, that never did happened, but what did happen was equally as fantastic. My daughters, and in particular, my youngest daughter: started playing this unit on almost a daily basis. Although this is probably not a substitute for a good keyboard tutor, it has enough bells and wistles that my kids too interest to in right away...and they actually kept their interest in it.

Although this unit can use batteries, so you can take it anywhere down the road, on the beach or whereever: we always used the supplied AC power adapter. The real nice thing for us parents, was that it has a headphone jack on the back, so the kids can jam away, and not drive us crazy. The song bank is sufficient to keep your interests going for a long time. My favorite of these would have had to been the Star Wars theme song. I even tried to learn it myself...but alas, I failed.

As this is a MIDI device, it is nice that you can do even more with your music. You can hook this devise up to your computer, and using the supplied software, you can write your own music and many other neat things. I unfortunatly was never able to get my system to work with this. I am not sure, but it was probably my computer, and not the program or connections. The supplied MIDI cables and software all seemed to be of high quality.

I think the thing that really attracted me to this keyboard, was how the keys can light up both when you are playing, or when you are learning how to play a song. As I tend to be visual, and very much a guy who likes flashy lights and sounds...it had me at hello! My complete system also came with a song book, keyboard stand, and seat.

Although I barely scatched the surface of what this keyboard can do: what I do know is that it is the perfect keyboard for the new user, as well as the more accomplished player. This system has something for everyone, and although I probably paid too much, with the love for music firmly installed in my kids minds: I know that the price was right for this wonderful system.
