The Belkin USB Videobus is a cable designed to transfer video from analog camcorders and vcr's to your computer. This version is for Macintosh computers only but there is a PC version available as well. The cable itself seems well made and the Videoshop 4.5 software that comes with it is fairly simple though somewhat limited. The problem lies with the claims made on the package. Although it does a good job of capturing video at the postage stamp size so commonly used on the internet any attempt to get a larger image results in a very poor pixilated image. Even still images captured at the somewhat larger size of 640x480 are too pixilated to be of much use. If what you are looking for is a simple way to capture short videoclips for webpages and e-mail then you might find the Videobus useful. You should also know that if you are thinking about saving your home movies back to videotape after working on them then think again as you will need to have a videocard installed in your computer. Also make sure your Mac has OS 8.6 or higher , a USB port, and is at least 250MHZ or faster! Good Luck!!
