Yes this product is as brilliant as everyone says. I use it at work every day and would love to buy a copy for my home PC.

But, come on Adobe!! You can buy a car for the same price as this.

Just For Pros

(5 out of 5) by Allan Revich on Mar 12, 2001 (Toronto, CANADA)
Adobe Photoshop grows more powerful with each release. This means that it also gets more complex. The bottom line is that if you are looking for an image editor to make your family snapshots look better, or want to put some nice pictures of your puppy on your Geocities Web site, Photoshop is NOT for you. However if you are a graphics professional, visual artist, web site designer or illustrator, Adobe Photoshop is unbeatable. You can do literally anything that you can imagine with this product. Like a good marriage, your graphics partner is always revealing some new and incredible feature.

If you are a pro, you need Photoshop.

SUPERB features

(5 out of 5) by J. Robinson on Nov 7, 2000 (Atlanta, GA USA)
i'm new to photoshop. i am simply blown away by the results i have achieved already after following just a few tutorials. being able to lift something out of a photo and place it into another -- without even a hint that the picture was modified -- is one feature i use most often (so far). and the web features are very useful and time-saving, too. i'm anxious to learn more about color correction and other advanced features. seems that the sky is the limit when it comes to what can be accomplished. this software may have a steep learning curve for the novice (like me), but the time investment is worth it if your motivation is to improve the quality of your images. this most powerful software has SO MANY options that I was completely overwhelmed at first. but i searched online for tips and tutorials, and quickly dug in. with patience and persistence, i am now consistently achieving good RESULTS.

uummmmm??

I thought that this was one of the greatest softwares I had Bought after Photoshop 5. THat was untill photoshop 7 came out. Personally I would skip the savings and go for the good stuff with Photoshop7. Almost the same as 6 except that there is a history function that allows you to go back as many steps as you need. There are an uncountable amount of new features that are so easy to use I was blown away.

Shop for no Other...

Exceptional in every way, Photoshop is THE image editing software to own. With each new upgrade, Photoshop becomes more user friendly and intuitive. The new effects, especially Liquefy, practically border on animation (I'm still trying to figure that one out). Of course, with the previous upgrade of 5.5, you can also prepare your images for the web; so it's a one-stop shop for all your image editing needs.
The only thing I recommend is that once you purchase Photoshop 6.0, be sure to go to Adobe's website (...) and download the patch for version 6.0.1. This will allow Photoshop to save clipping paths that QuarkXpress can read. It's a MAJOR oversight on Adobe's part to leave that out, but it can obviously be remedied rather quickly.
