Do not expect customer service!
This unit worked fine for several months. Now that it's inexplicably stopped working, however, I can't seem to contact the company to get it fixed! They don't answer e-mails, they don't answer their phone, their technical support forum is down.
Because of the neglect and frustation I have suffered over trying to get this fixed, I cannot recommend this product. I will not be purchasing a Ugate router in the future.

Crapola. Thing lasted me 5 days past warranty expiration
This thing was great while it worked. Thought spending the $200 would mean I was getting something that would last a while. Well, 5 days past warranty expiration and the thing pukes. Dead, it turns on but I can't get to the interenet through it. The lights just flash. Pretty cool. I bought a D-link Firewall for half as much hoping to get atleast as much life out of it. What a piece of CRAP.
Don't throw your money away
I bought this router because it seemed to be a technically superior quality product. It worked fine for about 9 months. After that it would operate with only one computer. The customer support is awful - I couldn't get any - so my only option was to throw it away and buy a new one.
great way to share dsl connection on network
Used since Feb. 2000 with no problems. I sold to one my customers, still works , replaced with ugate 3200. Has DHCP and firewall, will uplink to another hub for more connections.
UGATE Return policy - Beware
If you purchase a Ugate-3000 keep in mind UMAX's return policy. My Ugate-3000 worked fine for 26 days, then it stopped working. I called UMAX tech support and I was told that it sounded like a hardware failure. I should box it up and send it to them. (I pay shipping) They will take a look at it and if they find that it is broken, they will ship me another one. I assume the turn around time for this has to be at least shipping both ways, which would be two weeks, plus however long they keep it to "look" at it. I suspect that it would be around 3 weeks before I see a new router. I called eCost and because it was less than 30 days, I asked for a replacement. If you can go without a router for a month if yours is broken, think about the ugate 3000.
EDIT: This router finally died after the warrantee expire. I would not suggest produces from this company. Try Netgear.
