I bought this system after my office player (a cheap Sharp) died on me. I admit that one of the criteria was to look like a piece of office furniture and not something left by an alien (this seems to be the current trend). Nonetheless, it has been quite a pleasing acquisition. Everything works just as you'd expect it (I haven't been able to figure out what the other reviewer didn't like about the remote).

The receiver is particularly impressive. My old system could only pick up a few channels clearly. The PM22 seems to suck the channels out of the air.

The speakers are quite impressive for small, 6 ohm units... They won't be mistaken for my home Cerwin Vegas, but quite responsive.

The only down side (and I knew it going in - and now so do you) is that the CD is a single disk unit. I didn't consider this a problem as it was the changer that failed on my old unit.

I really like this system. I especially like its strong bass and how loud the speakers will go without blowing themselves out. I thought the only setbacks were the confusing controls. I give it four stars
