Great Deal!
I am a college student living in a small room, but I wanted to fit my dvd player with some nice 5 speaker surround sound. These speakers are really nice, the best of the 3 being the center channel. I already had some great infinity front speakers so the rear speakers were a great addition (you don't need to have the greatest speakers in the rear) Overall this is a great deal, came within a week, with an additional $10 for shipping and handling.

Great sound for the price!
Amazing sound/price ratio! Use your existing stereo speakers and complete your surround sound system with a set of these.

nice for the price
I bought these as an an entry into 5.1 channel sound. The set tis hooked up to a technics dolby pro receiver with KLH main speakers. It would still benefit greatly from what will surely be my next purchase a subwoofer for the lower power ranges. All in all a lovely, reasonable way to get ones' toes in the water. Although it should be mentioned that the center speaker is a bit of a hog and needs to be corraled so the less powerful surround speakers aren't overwhelmed. By the way this set was $... dollars cheaper at ... than at a so-called bargain electronic outfit. Nice going .... Now get in a subwoofer so I can be a happy woman.

Not so impressed, even with the price tag.
This kit is touted as a good 3-pc setup for those that have a home theatre amplifier but only the front two speakers. That's what I needed, and the price seemed too hard to believe. Despite an occasional poor review, I decided to give them a try.
I'm not an audiophile. But I do know what sounds good and what sounds bad. I've had rear and center speakers on this system before, so that's not the issue. The center speaker (used for most midrange including voice) leaves a lot to be desired. It's muffled, boxy. Misses that rich sound you should have from a speaker. Same goes for the rear speakers. Overall my system sounded better just using the 2 speakers I already had.
The price lures you in. But, if you're looking to fill the gap like I was, to turn a 2-speaker system into 5, do yourself the favor of a little more research and spending at least a little more money. It will be worth it in my opinion. I'll be returning my set within the week of writing this review.

Great set up.
I just bought these over the weekend. I found them for a VERY low price and could not pass them up. As everyone has said, the center is fantastic. I set up the surrounds as my main L/R because they were better than the ones I had. They sound great. Next weekend I'm going to get another set of KLH for the new main L/R. Don't let the low price fool ya. These are great speakers.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the surrounds really don't have much bass at all, but it's not THAT big of a deal with a powered sub.
