Many Uses for Portable DVD

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Sep 30, 2000
I have had this electronic device now for about a year and a half. I bought it because I knew I was facing a long hospital stay and access to entertainment on dialysis etc. was non-existent. I have spent many happy hours attached to miserable machinery that heals my body, but the joy I get from watching movie after movie during the process heals my mind and makes the hours wiz by. It is also a useful device in waiting rooms and when you need to be distracted by something pleasant. Note: I prefer not to use the battery which I find awkward and a little heavy. Otherwise, this is the best investment I ever made!

What a product

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Sep 4, 2000
WOW!!!What an amazing product.I just got it and it is the coolest thing i have ebvere seen in my LIFE!!!I can tell u that now Panasonci has come out with a second version of the DVD-LV75 and now the screen has a darker tint making it so it does not reflect light into the screen from the inner silver panel. The nest thing is that the play WILL i repeat WILL play double sided discs without a problem.I am turjning 14 and got thjis for a B Day presewnt from my mom.I can say this if u have the extra money and want tthe coolest electronic out on the market today i would recommend this product a full 110%!!!Happy Viewing.

PS-The picture and sound are GREAT, with no problems..and the navigation button is fun to play around with and is no "akward".

Small enough to fit in my purse !!

I was totally amazed at the size of this DVD player. The quality of the screen is wonderful and when plugged into my 52" screen TV, what a georgous picture. Complete portability yet compatable for home theatre viewing, this is an amazing product.

No DVD playing allowed on some airlines

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Aug 4, 2000
I have both Panasonic L-50 and this LV75. LV75 is definitely the better one. The additional 2" screen makes a big difference. It is thinner and easier to operate. It does not get as hot as the old L-50 and the battery lasts longer...

However, be aware that some airlines ( such as CAL: China Air Lines who flys from LA or SF to Taiwan ) do not allow any DVD playing on their flights. It was quite a surprise and disappointment when I was ready to watch a few new DVD bought for this 14 hour flight. "According to CAA regulations.." they said.. Fly someone else or bring books with you.

I am in love with this player!

Just for reference, I also have the Panasonic LV-50 portable and the Pioneer Portable. This is head and shoulders above the others. The screen quality is fantastic. Very crisp. The controls are greatly improved over the LV-50. The toggle which allows the LV-75 to act as a monitor for a video input has been changed from a very fragile slide switch (I broke my first LV-50 because of that stupid design), to a little button in the back of the player. With the battery, my kitchen scale reads 2.7 pounds and it's still just an inch thick! I have gone through 30, or so, disks and have not found any problems reading. If you're looking for the best portable out of the bunch, this one seems to be it.
