Best portable dvd player ever made

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on May 21, 2000
ive owned 2 different panasonic dvd players (L10 and Lv-75) these are the best brand (panasonic) on the market they Never skip even on airplanes! The have great picture quality, 3 different ratios widescreen(16:9), regular(4:3), zoomed in. Dolby digital and DTS outputs and tv connector cables. so this has basically everything you need to use it as portable dvd player and a home dvd player. it also has a 4 hour battery

The best DVD player ever!!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Feb 18, 2001
I recently purchesd this product. I have been comparing the DVD-LV75 with other brands. This one seemed to be the best. I hooked it up to my T.V and the quality was better than the normal DVD player. The DVD-LV75 makes a 3 hour flight go right by. I reccomend gettign some noise cancelling headphones to reduce engine noise. The only bad thing is that there is only one headphone jack so you can not watch a movie with someone else. The battery lasts for about 4 and a half hours. The DVD-LV 75 is great for sleep-overs because it take 2 seconds to hook up to a tv. I recomend that you get it insured because you never know when someone could spill on it and break. If you are watching a movie that is formatted with widescreen there will be no lines on the top or bottom of the movie. The 7 inches makes a big difference over the 5 inches. The navigation botton is not "awkward" to use. Amazon.com the cheapest relible source I could find. The DVD-LV75 is the best portable DVD player EVER!!.

Wonderful. A must for any movie buff! 5 Stars!

This is a terrific player. I got mine in December and have fallen in love with it! I have taken it on 3 trips by plane so far and let me tell you, it's a God-sent! This is a truly great player but there are just a few things I wouldn't say that I don't like but they could be different. The players buttons are a little dainty if you know what I mean....the navigation button is the worst, I always feel like it might break off in my hand at any given moment. When the player is in the stop mode and it is just sitting it goes to a blue screen which was a little disappointing for a thousand dollars. I was expecting a graphic when stopped instead of the very trite blue screen. I'm used to my home Sony DVD player, when stopped says "SONY DVD" in a really cool graphic. It's not the most important thing to have on a portable DVD player but it still was a little disappointing. Other than those two things I have to say I was VERY impressed with the quality of the player! The picture is magnificent! And despite rumors the speakers are much more than "adequate". Speaking of rumors, let me disperse one right now, this player DOES play double sided disks! I don't know what some of these crack-smoking reviewers were talking about! It absolutely does play them! Oh, I love the fact that all of the buttons are inside of the player! This way, when it's not in use all of the buttons are protected (when closed). That is except for the power button but believe me, it's not easy to accidentally turn on. You have to hold the power button in the on position for a few moments before it kicks on, which is a nice feature. The buttons are nicely placed in relationship to the player as a whole. The only thing that is a little awkward is the placing of the buttons on the remote but hell, how many times will you use the remote anyway? Okay, enough rambling.....you could nitpick every detail of it forever......BOTTOM LINE: let's just say this player is a must-have and in terms of quality it blows all other portable players out of the water!!!!

Three years old, and still going strong!

(4 out of 5) by Easy Rider on Jul 22, 2005 (Alpharetta, Georgia United States)
I received this DVD player about three years ago as a Christmas present. It was used initially to keep me occupied on long flights, and performed flawlessly everytime. It was knocked around, bumped, and generally tossed around quite a bit in my carry on bag, and never skipped a beat. These days, it keeps two boys, ages six and three, occupied on long trips in my wife's minivan- you can only imagine the abuse it suffers at the hands of those two! It is routinely dropped, stepped on, and baked in the back of the car, and yet it is still going strong! The durability of this little unit is amazing! My wife spent around $1,000 for this unit originally. These days similar units are much cheaper ($150-$200?), but I wonder about the quality, even of the newer Panasonic models, like the LS90.

I dig it, baby

I received the LV75 as a Christmas gift - I wasn't expecting it. I've used it many times and am very impressed by the product. The picture and sound quality are superb. This is great to have for long plane or car trips. I would recommend that you invest in a good pair of headphones (the noise-cancelling technology is good for this application) and a carrying case. This is one of those items that you really appreciate once you get it - you wonder how you ever did without it.
