Good Start!

Easy to set up, but the interface has some issues. You have to be a TCP/IP guru to get it right the first time. Read the instructions carefully and follow them. Larger capacities would be nice for future releases of this product. It solves the problem of getting you more storage for your files.

Still needs some work

While the unit does deliver external storage at wire rates, there are a few flaws. First, if you're a Win2K user, you won't be able to use your fully qualified user name (e.g. Joseph.Doe) because the user names have the Unix (Linux) limitations. This means you have to map your drive as another user. Also, the unit is quite noisy, so don't plan on having it anywhere in which peace and quiet are important.

Don't do it!

I have had 5 of these drives die on me with hardware failures. One drive lasted only 3 days. It's junk!

As always a superb product by linksys

I purchased this unit because I had heard some good and some not so good reviews about it, and wanted to see it for myself. I was surprised with the speed and capacity of the unit for the money. Under simulated loads of 250 users I got nearly fullspeed performance of 75 to 100 mbp/s. I have printers that are capable of running without windows except a dot-matrix; and that wouldn't be a fair test anyway.

-So long, and thanks for all the fish!
