The best headset I have used

(5 out of 5) by W. Jessup on Sep 2, 2000 (Westfield NC)
I have used the headset since the middle of May and have to say it is much better than the other two I used. One was an AT&T and the other one I can't recall who made it because it went in the trash that quick. I had purchased a Panasonic cordless phone which was headset ready a few months earlier and I decided to try the headset thing one more time. My main concern with this Panasonic model was the price, it was double what I had spent before. I was hoping that old saying you get what you pay for would be true in this case.

The best part about the headset is that no one knows I am using it. I mean, what good is a headset if it sounds like you are on a cheap speaker phone? That is the problem I had encountered before with the two less expensive models.

As far as options go, you have two ear hooks. One ear hook is smaller and one is larger. I am glad they included the large one because I tired the small one first and it just didn't fit. Now I know I have big ears. And Panasonic has also included a headband too which I also tried. I prefer the ear hook even though it did take some time to get use to the strange feel.

The microphone is away from your face but this hasn't made any difference in the sound quality with people on the other end of the conversation. And there is a clip also attached to the cord. I normally clip the wire to my shirt. This helps to keep the wire out of the way.

If you need or want a telephone headset, I would recommend this one.

Too expensive

(3 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on May 19, 2000 (Philly)
My second telephone head set, got this from otherwebsite. Sleek design, light, good and clear voice. Came with 2 sizesof the "ear hanging device" for small or big ear, however, these things are very unstable. They are unable to force the speaker to be in place and fall off easily. It would be perfect if the design is "ear clipping device" (like the AT&T one) because it is must lighter.

On the other hand, the head band is pretty good, small and comfortable. Volume control built-in. I like the "mission impossible style" microphone the most.

My opinion, it's not worth that much money.

Dissappointing

(3 out of 5) by John on Nov 26, 2001 (PHOENIX, AZ USA)
I had a ... headset I bought for about ... at a local store. It worked OK but it was uncomfortable so I decided to upgrade to this one. What a dissapointment. My major complaint is the sound volume. When I put this on callers complain that the volume is too low and ask me to remove it and use the handset.

I'd suggest that you shop around and look at some alternatives before you consider purchasing this one. This is certainly not worth the price.

Horrible Headset! Here's why!

(1 out of 5) by Trevor Wineinger on Sep 11, 2001 (Dallas, TX United States)
I recently purchased this headset believing the other customer comments on it. Also, I have never been unhappy with Panasonic. However, now I don't think some of them have ever used other headsets before, because this headset flat out BITES! You can't hear very well on it and my friend that I talk to every day complains that it sounds like I'm on a speakerphone. My old headset that I bought for [less] sounds much better on both ends. I think the noise canceling on this thing actually cancels too much! Trust me, it's not as good as most Panasonic products!

Delivers as advertised

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 25, 2001
I purchased this headset along with my Panasonic Gigahertz phone about a year ago. It seemed a bit expensive, but being able to have the ease of a headset and to be able to get things done while on the phone were paramount in my purchase. I have to say that the headset has worked to my highest expectations. I use it primarily at home but have also used it with my cellphone. It easily outperformed other products I had purchased and returned. The foam-type earpiece cover seems just a bit hokey and unsubstantial. But it has the advantage or being easily replaced if wear should occur.......which it hasn't in a year or thorough use. Another reviewer mentioned something about volume problems but perhaps the problem is with their phone. On occation I have to turn my volume down. Sound is crisp and clear. Very happy with my purchase.
