Good for the money.
I have had this for about a month now. I must say, for the price it isn't that bad. It has a lot of settings that you would need to constantly play with because of all the choices and some spl setting you might want to set for some movies, regular channels etc..All in all it does the job.

A Great Solution
This product provides a great solution to someone (a) with a ton of CDs that sit in a drawer or a box in the basement, and (b) who doesn't want to expend the time or money to buy the electronic versions of these albums and burn them onto an iPod. Thanks to this product, my wife and I have been listening to music that we hadn't heard in years.
Pros: in addition to those just described, we bought this product frankly because it fit our audio-visual cabinet. The products of Sony, which also sells this type of changer, are too deep. The feature that I really enjoy is the custom group feature. You can program 5 different groups and then listen to songs in the group randomly. Also, putting all of my CDs in the changer and creating a log took only about 4 hours. I suspect that burning 250 albums would take many times that.
Cons: one disappointment is the length of time in between songs. I figured it would be longer than an iPod, but it averages 20 seconds (I timed it), which is longer than I expected. If you're doing something else (like reading), you really don't notice the lag. However, if I were throwing a party and wanted to keep the beat going, this would be a problem. A second drawback is the number of custom groups: we could've used a few more.
The jury's out: I just got this about 2 or 3 months ago, so I don't yet know how durable it is.

Great disc changer
I had one of the older models for many years before it quit working and I just loved it, so I went looking for another one. I couldn't believe none of the stores carry these anymore so I was thrilled to find it on the internet. It came really fast, was packaged very well and works like a charm. I really like the single CD player feature which my other one had, too. I would recommend this disc changer to anyone.

My CD collection is finally safe
I have a Sony CDP-CX255 200 CD changer and a Sony CDP-CX355, 300 CD changer. The CDP-CX255 has worked well for years. In the CDP-CX355, my CD's have skipped, been scratched, and basically been unplayable on an intermittent level. I bought this CD changer for my extensive Symphonic and Operatic recordings. After looking at reviews, I decided to purchase the Pioneer PD-F1009. I have never been happier with a purchase. It plays flawlessly with the most intricate music. I can finally listen to my recordings, secure in the knowledge that they will be played safely.
After reading the reviews on these products, I cannot understand how Sony can still put out such a poor piece of equipment as the CDP-CX355. Thank you Pioneer for offering such a fine piece of equipment at a fair price. [[ASIN:B00004RDL5 Pioneer PD-F1009 301-Disc CD-File Changer

Junk
Broke three of my CD's the first day I owned it. I blame myself for buying 1990's technology when I should have invested in MP3 / Ipod technology (which I did). CD's and CD changers like this are dead technologies. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
Amazon compensated me with a $20.00 credit for the broken CD's, so they certainly have done their part. I love Amazon.com.
