I've owned this DVD player since it was first introduced. And let me tell you folks, the audio and video quality is superb. My favorite hobby in the world is Home Theater and movies, so when I set out to buy a player, you can count I searched for the best. And in fact I did. Even if I were to upgrade to another player (to read DVD-Audio and CD-R) I would not leave Onkyo's side. I would only change to they're more prestige line called Integra. Putting that aside, the audio & video quality are flawless. It looks marvelous on my widescreen TV. Deep blacks and the color pallette is rich and pure. Not over nor under saturated. The audio side is equally as good. You WILL hear every detail your CD's have to offer...nothing less. Want high-end gear without spending a fortune? Get the DV-S525, it will not dissapoint. Even the most discriminating HT fan would agree.
