Amazing phone for the money

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 17, 1999
I had a Uniden 900mhz digital answering service previously and liked it, but it had a few features which were inconvenient. The Memorex however, is simple to use and all of the annoyances of the Uniden are absent in the Memorex phone. And the price..you can't touch a phone with this many features for the money. A must for any family.

Great phone

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 22, 1999
I've had AT&T, Cobra, and Sony cordless phones. I have been dissappointed in all of them to some degree. This phone has a quality feel that is amazing for the money. And good features too.

Good features, but an annoying buzz when talking

(3 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Mar 30, 2000 (Corona, Ca United States)
I have had good luck with Panasonic systems in the past. Unfortunately, Amazon was out of stock on the model I preffered. Because of the features, price and avg customer rating (full five stars when I purchased), I gave the Memorex a try. It has many nice features: clear display, easy to use base unit, the ability to use the handset and the base/speakerphone on the same call. The recorded sound was a bit muffled, for both the greeting and messages.

The big problem I had was a slight buzz that could be heard when you talked into the handset (not background noise), even after trying every channel and relocating the base. Nothing major, but once you notice it, you hear it all the time - and it gets very annoying. It may have been a defective phone, although I have seen similar comments on other brands. I ended up returning the unit and spending the extra $50 on a comparable Panasonic unit....which has performed very well.

Love this Phone!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Nov 4, 2000
I ordered this phone from Amazon.com a few weeks ago. I chose this module because of all the features it offered at a great price.

I was able to set up the system in minutes without continually checking the operating manual because the operating buttons are large and intuitive. I like that the Caller ID feature is in the phone and that the phone can be recharged by placing it face up or face down in the base unit.

I noticed a reviewer mentioned hearing background or buzzing sounds while using their phone. I have not encountered any similar problem. However, I did follow the operating manual's advice about where to place the phone to avoid such interference. This may be something you would want to look into if you do encounter background sounds.

I love this phone, the features, and the service offered by Amazon.com.

Monitor a Call

(3 out of 5) by Ismael R. Dieppa on Dec 2, 2000 (Virginia)
I just receive this telephone as a gift. The only thing I don't like, neither my wife, is that we can not monitor a new call from the handset. The previous answering machine we had, Bell Atlantic, we were able to monitor and either answer or let the machine pick-up. We do like all the other features this machine has.
