WOW More BANG For The BUCK

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 15, 1999
Absolutely outstanding sound quality for a bottom linereciever! I purchased it for an extra stereo expecting mediocresound. It lacks many desirable features and the remote is sluggish. However I was so amazed at the sound quality, it rivals my main reciever. I highly reccommend this reciever to anyone not requiring a lot of fancy extras. By the way it performs with awesome ability with a Hi-Fi VCR.I still can't get over what a value it is for the price.

Check this out.

In 1998, for my 17th birthday, my dad gave me this receiver. I'd never had a receiver before, never even had an interest, and it was a floor model with no remote, so I was underenthused. I had it with me all through college, and through moves to two states. I gave it to a friend for maybe four or five years and just recently got it back. It's just a stereo amp, which by today's standards is a bit weak, but it is in my room chugging away after almost a decade. I wish stuff was still made that well.

On the Contrary..

I have had this receiver for about 7 years and I have never had a problem with it. The sound quality is better than you would expect and the Amp runs clean up to a little less than max power. Solid, well-priced, and simple. I would not throw this receiver in the trash...

Sincerely,
An average guy with no agenda.

bogus reviews

Five 5-star rave-reviews from the same anonymous 'reviewer' named "An electronics fan," all in the space of 10 days, from six years ago?

I think there's a special circle in h*ll for sales reps who abuse online rating systems.

I got one of these units free from a friend. After a month of playing with it, I understand why he gave it away. It sucks.

I threw mine in the trash, where it belongs.

Great Value

I also highly recommend this receiver. I purchased it as a second set for a home office and have been very pleased with quality, sound and ease of use. The unit is clearly laid out and all controls are easy to read. It has outputs for 2 sets of speakers and can be connected to CD, VCR, Tape deck, and turntable. The sound is warm and very powerful. It seems well made and I have had good luck with Technics in the past. Additionally, the price is right. I searched all over the internet and Amazon has this unit at by far the best price available. An excellent sounding stereo receiver for $ dollars adds up to a value you can't go wrong with!
