Solid, flashy, almost great

(4 out of 5) by Bernhard on Nov 29, 1999 (D.C.)
Accoustic spectrum is great, solid bass. Its flashy lights certainly make it stand out both on your bookshelf and next to all other audio minisystems on the shelves. Only major flaw: it's CD-changer is very slow as you have to open each CD tray separately (loading 5 CD's can take more than 1 minute)

The SC-AK17 is an awesome Mini System!

(5 out of 5) by Casey on Jan 1, 2000 (Cottage Grove,Oregon)
I have compared the sound quality of Aiwa,Sony, Sharp,Magnavox and Fisher and in my opinion the Panasonic SC-AK17 had the best sound quality out of all of them. With 100 watts and two Sub-Woofers this thing ROCKS!You can change the sound quality of the system to soft, heavy, live, concert, hall, etc.Or you can have all of them combined. This is why I prefer the the Panasonic SC-AK17.

What a great system for a great price!

(5 out of 5) by T. Young on Dec 26, 1999
I love this thing! The sound is great, and the price is great! Everything about it is good! The looks of it are good, the flashing lights, all of it! Even though it takes 10 extra seconds to switch CD's, it's still great! If you're looking for an all-around great stereo system, this one's the best way to go! You're gonna' love it!

I love it!

(5 out of 5) by Veronica J. Noone on Dec 23, 1999 (MD)
I do not know that much about radio systems, but this radio sounds great. It is easy to use, the remote it fairly small but organized well. The speed of ejecting CD's is slow but I feel its worth the 10 extra seconds, especially for the price.

Bad CD changer, Great Sound!

(2 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Nov 7, 2001
It is all good except for a few things: the fm receptor is in the back of the stereo sytem and must be pulled out all the way to receive it the clearest, the cd changer is extremely slow and makes alot of noise, also when theres no cds in there it searches through each dics holder, it takes alot of time and wastes alot of power. Other than that the sound is great, the look is nice, theres a nice and simple remote, and contains all the features of a stereo system!
