It serves the main purpose.

The best value for personal use and/or small home-based office.
Other than an awkward provided tray, I manage at least to provide a box underneath it so that the incoming faxes don't just fly away and get lost under the table!

Nice machine for the money

Very well organized manual and set-up is a breeze. My printquality is fine so far. Compared to the thermal paper machine thisreplaces, it's as if I died and went to heaven.

poor print quality in KX-FP101 Fax

(1 out of 5) by Adult Customer on Mar 6, 2000 (New York, NY)
The quality of received faxes for this machine is very poor. I am a fan of Amazon.com and don't like to return things, but the print quality resembles that of the old thermal faxes. I returned it.

Also, beware that Panasonic is shipping this fax without the fax receiving tray, which you will need to order.

Paper Tray Update

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Feb 11, 2000
I bought two of these fax machines (not from Amazon); one had the "promotional" paper tray, the other didn't. Thus, I suggest waiting until you receive the fax before ordering the paper tray from Panasonic, to see whether or not it is included.

Easy to use, cost effective

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 24, 2000
Just recieved this unit. Was able to use it out of the box, without looking at the instructions. I did have to clean the rollers and reading area to get it to print without lines or blank spots...looks fine now. Also, the paper tray that others had to purchase is now included as a "promotional item"...guess they caught some grief over that. I think it does all I would expect it to at this price; send and recieve faxes and make an occasional copy. Overall, a decent little unit.
