I got the Teac and installed the CD-R and the SCSI card within a half an hour. Installed the EZ-CD Creator software and was burning a full 74 min/650 meg CD like that. It takes only about 12 minutes for a full CD. Thats hel-la fast compared to a cheesy 2x which takes like 40 minutes and 4x 20 minutes. I've backed up all my old games that were on disks and Cd and created custom music compliations of my favorite bands. No more putting 10 CDs in the car changer, I just need 1 with all my best jams and I'm ready to go. You gotta buy this CD-R cuz TEAC SCSI 6x is a good value compared to the Plextor Plexwriter. This CD is definitely better than HP or any IDE interface CD-R. You have to go SCSI for performance and reliability. Alrite, gotta go burn more CDs

I've seen prices for this unit at $279, without the SCSI card. So this looks ok if you need both the card and the drive. For me, I don't need the card, so it is over priced.
