this is a fantastic phone

this phone is the best ever! One would not ever know this is not a corded phone, it is that clear, and there is no background noise. Very good range.

Consider it disposable

(2 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 9, 1999
I want to echo other reviewers' comments that the battery life for this phone is very short. Ours was low and a brief power outage apparently blew out the whole phone. We've replaced the battery but the phone appears to be quite dead. When it worked, it performed quite well (good range, excellent clarity).

Horrible phone

(1 out of 5) by A. Joakimsen on Jan 22, 2000 (Florida, USA)
This is a good phone, it gives great reception, etc. But 1) no headset jack 2) I have had it replaced 3 times, the phone just dies after a while, consider a panasonic gigrange or one of the colored vtech's

Great clarity, terrible battery life

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Aug 18, 1999
No doubt about it, this phone has exceptional clarity. We have, however, experienced terrible battery performance.

1. Once the handset emits one or two "beeps," we have 5 - 15 seconds (at most) to conclude the call before the phone goes completely dead.

2. After six months, the battery seems have lost all "recharge" capability. We have to replace the battery already because the maximum life after a full charge is about an hour (even if you're not using it! - if it's just off the hook & not in use). Six months is not an acceptable lifespan!

Great deal!

I've used 900MHz phones in the past and been disappointed, but this one exceeds my expectations. The clarity is great, and I was surprised that I was able to use it over a hundred yards from my house. I know the literature says it can go farther, but I was still surprised. No echo or feedback of my own voice either that I'd experienced with other phones in this catagory. What are you waiting for, get one!
