When this modem is installed I get great connections (44k - 48k average) but it causes a hardware conflict with my soundblaster live sound card which disables my sound. Tech support for this modem didn't provide any help because they said I have a faulty soundcard (which performs flawlessly without the modem installed). My reccommedation is to pay the extra money and get a US Robotics modem instead.

I purchased the Zoom 2925 PCI modem to replace the "Winmodem" that had been originally installed by the computer manufacturer. I am quite satisfied. Connections to the web are consistently fast, generally 48000 bps or better, and download speeds average better than 5 KBps, which, I believe, is fairly quick. In addition, with this modem I was able to add Fax capability to the computer, something the OEM fax did not have. Bottom line - this modem is easy to install and it works. Zoom puts out a nice product.

With the reputation of the Zoom name, this modem is outstanding. The ease to install and register was simply amazing. The Zoom modem has an extremely fast connection and with features like the lightening gaurd protection, I would highly recommend this modem.

I recently installed my Zoom 56K PCI modem and was very pleased with the easy installation. I consistently connect at speeds above 40,000 bps. When I was making the decision as to which modem to purchase, the ZoomGuard lightning protection feature on this modem caught my attention. I have had other modems fried from lighting and am confident this will not happen with my Zoom modem.

This should be a simple operation...and work as advertised. Does not work in my Gateway P166. Slow email tech support w/ non-user friendly recommendations. Blamed slow connection on my lines, however my 56k notebook connects fast over same lines.
